A new project came to the GESAB team through the publication of our technical furniture and solutions on BIMobject, a platform for construction professionals such as architects and designers.

The University of Alabama in the United States entrusted the renovation of its Security Center to the audiovisual design and engineering firm Flynn Design Services, which was able to explore our control consoles through BIMobject. This platform allows architects and designers to directly test technical furniture in their plans and renderings to determine which one best suits their client’s needs.
Advantis Pod, the right console
In this case, the console that best suited the needs was the Advantis Pod model, so the company decided to specify this piece of furniture as the most suitable for implementation in the training center’s critical environment. It is robust, yet lightweight and simple in design, designed to accommodate a high density of equipment. Furthermore, it meets the strictest ergonomic standards and provides operators with ample space to carry out their operations.
ESB Group was the company finally selected to carry out the console implementation project and with whom the design was developed.
The final design proposed for the control room was a large, curved control console for three operators, fitting perfectly into the space and allowing full visibility of the video wall. This allows for efficient operations while protecting the health of the operators.

Smooth design and implementation
The deadlines for implementing the control room were very tight, as it had to be completed by the start of the school year. Therefore, the console had to be flown in and installed by the renovation workers, guided by the plans, instructions, and videos sent by GESAB’s team of experts. Thus, the control console was installed easily and smoothly, perfectly meeting the deadlines established by the end client.
The end result is an ergonomic space that meets all the needs operators may require in their daily work, and has achieved the full satisfaction of both the project managers at the University of Alabama and Flynn Design Services.
