Implementing technology along with high-quality ergonomic technical furniture, promotes safety and modernity in Mexico.
The existing systems were outdated and insufficient, and the goal was to improve operator performance and better control of all security and surveillance cameras.
DC TECHCO, a technology solutions integrator with more than 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors, was the company chosen to carry out the new command center renovation, having already implemented the first phase of the project.
Achieving a modern and technological environment
When searching for a company that could provide technical furniture for the new control center, DC TECHCO decided to use our products. The relationship between this company and the GESAB Mexico team had already been consolidated after working together on other projects, so they were already aware of the high quality of our control center solutions, as well as our extensive experience and excellent results.
After understanding the needs of the various departments and analyzing the space where the new control center would be located, GESAB’s team of architects and designers proposed the solution to DC TECHCO. Priority was given to maximizing the efficiency of the space designated for operators, optimizing the visual ergonomics of the video wall, and providing isolated spaces for greater privacy.
Large Advantis NG control consoles
A spacious main control room was designed with capacity for 42 operators. Large Advantis NG control consoles were installed, customized with the end-user’s logo on the sides. A total of nine consoles were installed, each with three operators, and three more for five operators.
Between each operating station bucks were added to house computer equipment, as well as personal belongings of the room’s workers.
The 42 work positions were equipped with Freedom ergonomic chairs, Humanscale ergonomic monitor arms, and two 24-inch displays, with the goal of maximizing operator performance while protecting their health.
An 18-meter-long Barco Unisee 500 LCD video wall was installed on the wall in front of the control consoles designed to facilitate control, monitoring and alert tasks.
Smaller private spaces
Two smaller control rooms were set up, located at the rear of the security control center each with a control console, one for two operators and the other for one. An additional room was also implemented with capacity for 10 operators distributed across two three-seat consoles and one four-seat console. These rooms complement the command center.
A crisis room was also designed where operators and security officers could meet to make critical and urgent decisions, as its glass wall provided a view of both the main room and the video wall. Inside, an Advantis NG meeting table with a capacity of 12 people was installed, equipped with a retractable monitor integrated into one end. The room also features a 98″ large-format screen and a videoconferencing system capable of displaying content from any video wall source.
An innovative and modern final result
Finally, an office was designed as the main office, featuring a control console with a lifting system and a small five-seat meeting table, both also Advantis NG, intended for use by the mayor when he reports to the control center.
Thanks to the teamwork of DC TECHCO and GESAB México, those responsible for the project completely satisfied, as all their requirements were met and resolved.
The security control center was implemented in less time than expected, meeting the established opening date. The GESAB Mexico team worked closely with DC TECHCO, responding quickly to their requests and providing support and follow-up on every detail, both construction and technical.
The result was a highly technological control center, equipped with technical furniture and a video wall of the highest quality and durability, designed to operate continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
