A personalized design, the highest technology and the most ergonomic furniture on the market make up the most advanced police control center in Europe.
The Antwerp Police had the objective of developing the most modern and advanced police center in Europe, constructing a large building with all the needs and capabilities that the security service needs for city control, street surveillance and training.
A long but safe process
In search of the best solutions that the market could offer, the team from the Antwerp City Council’s technology department, Digipolis Antwerpen, attended the Intersec Dubai exhibition, where our company participates every year. In this way, they were able to learn about our high-quality solutions, leading them to want to visit our showroom in Madrid and being impressed by the modern Actea Max control console and our ability to carry out a 360º project of the highest demand.
After holding a collaborative session with all the suppliers involved in the project, developing layouts of the control center design, the GESAB team of architects developed renders with all the details of the design. These layouts wanted to find a distribution that facilitated efficient work, high operator performance and the highest ergonomics of the space in the critical environment.
DeskWall, efficient high technology
After implementing a pilot of the technical furniture that best suited their needs in their test laboratory, they wanted to test our DeskWall universal visualization platform aswell since it was the only solution on the market that covered all the needs and functionalities they required.
In this way, the operators and future users of the platform for the management, control and supervision of the sources, received training on the use of the tool with the aim that when the time came they could establish themselves in their workplace directly knowing its management and being effective from the first moment.
Adavantis NG, ACTEA Mission and advanced meeting table
Equans, a technological solutions integrator company, was the winner of the project and relied on our products, solutions and services to achieve the implementation of the most advanced police monitoring center in Europe.
To achieve this, Advantis NG and ACTEA Mission control consoles with a sit & stand system that provides greater ergonomics to operators by being able to change their posture during their workday were implemented in several areas, such as the main monitoring center, the dungeons or the training VR complemented with poles for the 55” monitors that they use as mini-video walls that allow them to modify their inclination.
In addition to the implementation of the technical furniture and the 64 operational positions with the DeskWall platform, which has been evolving during this time and including new functionalities customized to the specific needs of the Antwerp police, the interior design project was developed by coupling it to that carried out by those responsible for the construction of the new building.
Our videowall content management platform, DataWall, was implemented in the management positions, which makes it easier to visualize the general situation on the videowall.
A customized, height-adjustable advanced meeting table was located in a collaborative work area where several entities, such as healthcare and firefighters, can meet if necessary in the same space.
Several adapted cells-type rooms were also developed, where various teams can work in individual areas, being able to open them to join them according to the specific needs of the situation.
Excellence in the final result
The final result of the project is a high-quality monitoring center that has the latest technology and also has an attractive and modern design. It has resulted in a work environment where operators can carry out their work efficiently and in a healthy way, thanks to compliance with the highest international ergonomic standards.
It has become a reference monitoring center in the world, where those responsible receive reports and are impressed.
