Grupo Pantaleon is an agro-industrial organization dedicated to the responsible processing of sugarcane in Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile and the United States that needed to implement a new control center to achieve better and greater control over its production processes.
Trust placed in GESAB
The project managers on the client’s side were familiar with the high quality and ergonomics of our technical furniture, having installed it at another sugar mill, so they decided to engage our company and ask our team to design their control console.

Grupo Pantaleon’s new control room was to be implemented in an existing space that was being adapted to accommodate the critical environment, so our team encountered the challenge of having to carry out its installation work simultaneously with the construction work. Even so, the entire project was completed in a short timeframe, meeting the client’s deadline, as they needed the control center implemented as quickly as possible.
Ergonomics and control
The team’s solution was a large, four-operator Advantis NG control console with ergonomic arms for installing four monitors in a 2×2 arrangement for each operator, achieving improved ergonomics and improving employee space. This allows for better care of operator safety and health, maximizing their efficiency. Finally, the sides of the console were customized with the client’s logo.

Due to the trust placed in GESAB, the client also decided to use DataWall, our video wall content manager, to control and monitor their SCADA and CCTV systems. This allows them to integrate the displays and monitor the sources from their operating stations.
Challenges for the team
The implementation and configuration of the DataWall had to be carried out with the control center screens on the floor, as time was not at a premium and they had not yet been deployed in their designated locations. The work performed by the GESAB team was somewhat uneven, but once again, they demonstrated their professionalism and commitment to the client by deciding to proceed this way rather than delay the completion of the project.

Another big challenge for our team was installing the switches, encoders and computers, as the client didn’t have a designated space for them. Therefore, the consoles’ bucks were divided into a tray, concealing all the equipment the operators need to perform their tasks.
The end result is a highly efficient and ergonomic critical environment that meets all customer requirements.
