Four years after the implementation of a control room, GASELEC trusts us again for a new control center.
GASELEC, Compañía Melillense de Gas y Electricidad, is an energy distribution company in the Autonomous City of Melilla, Spain, once again trusted our team for the implementation of new control rooms.
Four years ago, our team implemented a small control room with a single-seat Advantis NG console, a video wall, and DeskWall, our universal source management platform. After presenting the latest version of DeskWall, the GASELEC team had the need to create two new rooms for the management of their assets; taking what was assembled in the first to the new engineering room and requiring a new control room.
We needed a disruptive change in the work philosophy of the control center and to meet the needs of the new smartgrid and GESAB had the product and solution for our needs.

Needs: ergonomics, technology and design
The client was clear about what it wanted for the new control room: a design space in which to carry out the control and management of alerts, signals and notices of the assets, as well as an ergonomic and efficient space in which operators could carry out the task in an effective and healthy way.
Thus, the new critical environment is a large space with large windows through which outside light enters, providing warmth to the space. Inside, a smaller second floor with glass walls houses the space for the supervisor. These walls allow the person in charge of the room to view the large LCD video wall located on the main wall of the control center and view data and crisis situations directly.
DeskWall and DataWall for font management
In the space for the control room operators, a curved Advantis NG control console was implemented for three operators, which provides greater ergonomics to the workstations.
The consoles are excellent for working in environments in which the information is digital, excellent ergonomics since it is a “tailored suit” so comfort is implicit.

DeskWall, our advanced source management system, was installed in the three operational positions, allowing them to be highly efficient and effective in decision making. In addition, DataWall, our next-generation video wall content manager, was installed in two positions.
DeskWall is the best technological solution that allows you to adapt different work environments since it facilitates its management in the face of the wide variety of services that exist. It provides us with a change in the organization to face different tasks, taking into account the continuous technological changes derived from the imposed regulatory obligations, from the penetration of new managers and operators of electrical networks for compliance with the PNIEC.
