Design and implementation of the new monitoring center with the aim of enhancing visual ergonomics and improving operational space.
Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company, wanted to implement a new control center for the management of its assets in different countries, in a space aligned with the strategic importance of this operation. The space chosen was an upper floor with large windows from which the immense city can be seen, a privileged location to house this control room.

Those responsible for the project came to us after carrying out a search for companies specialized in critical environments and once they visited our website, having a first approximation to our projects and products, they decided to contact us.
We chose GESAB over other options due to its high specialization in control rooms and its experience in renewable energy control centers, a key aspect for our project. From the beginning they demonstrated great flexibility and a clear understanding of our technical and operational needs, proposing a personalized solution aligned with the objectives of our project.

The video wall, the protagonist of the room
Our team traveled to the Sonnedix offices to learn in detail about their needs and requirements. In the first meeting it was identified that they were looking to renew their workspace and implement a control room equipped with professional solutions for 24/7 use. Likewise, it was proposed to redefine the distribution of the room and the furniture to guarantee maximum ergonomics, both in the operating positions and in the correct visualization of the video wall from any of them.

One of the key elements of the control room was the video wall: a large viewing surface to centralize critical information for operators. Due to the low height of the structural elements and, consequently, the ceiling of the room, the video wall could not have a great height, although it did allow greater development in a horizontal direction.
After identifying this limitation in the room and carrying out a visualization study, our team presented the advantages of opting for a video wall based on Philips MicroLED technology with a 0.9 mm pixel pitch, compared to the LCD solution initially requested by the client. This technology offers longer lifespan, superior image quality and frameless display.

In addition, maintenance of the video wall is carried out easily from the front, allowing individual modules to be replaced when necessary without having to access the rear or side, thus favoring a cleaner design in the visible part. To complete this structure, sound-absorbing material was implemented surrounding the video wall, obtaining two benefits in the room: an avant-garde design in line with the company’s image and a reduction in reverberation and noise in the room, favoring the concentration of the operators.

With the aim of maximizing operational efficiency, adapting the system to the needs of each situation and providing greater dynamism to video wall content management, DataWall, our advanced content management and distribution platform for video walls, was implemented.
GESAB has contributed significantly to improving the ergonomics, functionality and efficiency of the control room. The implemented solution has allowed us to create an optimal environment for our 24/7 control center, facilitating continuous operations in conditions of maximum comfort and performance.

Boosting visual ergonomics with curved consoles
The visual ergonomics of the video wall were complemented by curved Advantis New Generation control consoles, custom designed to adapt to the viewing needs in this space and improve the ergonomics of the operators. The GESAB team identified this console model as the most suitable solution for Sonnedix, providing operational spaces that meet international standards in ergonomics and very high quality workstations.
Thus, the consoles were arranged in two lines, placing the control room supervisor in the central position of the second row. This position also has the sit & stand system incorporated, which allows working both standing and sitting, favoring ergonomics and flexibility during operating days.

The sides of the control consoles were personalized with the client’s logo in the backlit version, providing greater visual identity and reinforcing the presence of the brand within the space.
The end result is a control room designed and implemented with state-of-the-art technology, allowing operators to manage Sonnedix’s renewable energy assets efficiently. A space designed down to the last detail to improve the operating experience, reduce visual fatigue and enhance productivity through technological tools of the highest quality on the market.
The GESAB team has fully met our expectations, standing out for its professionalism, commitment and excellent coordination in all phases. Their responsiveness and detail orientation have been key to guaranteeing efficient execution within established deadlines.
