An idea, an adventure and a lot of hard work were the keys to the success of GESAB SA de CV.

Fifteen years have been since the implementation of the first project in Mexico, a Command and Control Center (C2). Thus, in 2009, a new era began for GESAB, filled with success with benchmark projects for both private and public entities. Even then, the idea of formally establishing the company in the Americas with its own unique identity was considered.
The following year, the machinery was set in motion to make GESAB SA de CV a reality, under the leadership of Santiago Tomás, current Chief Operating Officer, and Antonio Arcéiz, Deputy Director of GESAB SA de CV, always with the aim of having a local team that knew the market and the idiosyncrasies of the region, necessary to achieve success.
In those early days, the support of the GESAB Spain team was crucial, turning GESAB SA de CV into a solid, benchmark company, with a team of more than 30 professionals and major projects under its belt.
A perfectly coordinated team, extensive industry knowledge, and the dedicated efforts of everyone have been instrumental in carrying out ambitious projects over the years, such as the Quintana Roo Command, Control, Computing and Communications Center (C5), the Operational Control Center for the Water and Sewerage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, and the Control Center for one of the world’s largest gold mining companies in Chile.

Thus, control centers bearing the GESAB seal are spread throughout the Americas, with a presence in countries such as Mexico, the United States, Colombia or Peru, among others.
Fifteen years growing together and celebrating success
The anniversary celebration was celebrated on September 18th with a gathering of the entire Mexican team and part of Spain.
“We always said we were coming to Mexico to stay, and we’ve delivered and proven it. We don’t just want to celebrate these 15 years: we want to celebrate many more, building a great company for the entire Americas.”
Pere Sabaté, GESAB Managing Director
This event featured speeches from Pere Sabaté, who personally thanked each team member for their work, dedication, commitment and professionalism; Santiago Tomás, who reviewed GESAB’s 15-year history in Mexico; and Antonio Arcéiz.

After the management team speeches, Pere Sabaté presented each person with a special gift. A stuffed axolotl, a species native to Mexico and protected due to scarcity. GESAB has made it part of its identity, as it represents the ability to adapt, resilience, perseverance and innovation.
In addition, Elizabeth Carrillo, Head of Human Resources in Mexico, showed a emotional video featuring photographs of the team and projects completed over the past 15 years.

Finally, the team was able to enjoy a mariachi group who gave a great concert, rounding out an evening filled with laughter, toasts and lively conversation.
“Today, fifteen years later, we gather at this meal not only to remember what we’ve accomplished, but also to look to the future with enthusiasm. A future full of challenges and opportunities, in which we will remain committed to Mexico, to our people, and to the growth of this great country.”
Pere Sabaté, GESAB Managing Director
