This change has not only impacted the understanding and way in which proposals are experienced, improving decision making, but has also minimized surprises in more advanced stages of the project.

Initially, three-dimensional representations were materialized in physical models that took a considerable time to develop, but with the emergence of technology there has been an increasingly widespread use of specialized software to represent projects, becoming an essential element and representing a revolution not only in the way in which the client perceives the proposals. Furthermore, in the initial stages, the designers themselves can discuss and improve their creations before the final presentation.

In recent years, the real leap has come from Virtual Reality. This new way of experiencing projects has meant a revolution in the experience for both the client and the designer himself, since the total immersion provided by the devices that make it easy to see the resources created with Virtual Reality eliminates blind spots and doubts in the decision making, completely immersing ourselves in the designed space.

There is no longer any room for confusion or surprises; It is possible to experience the design in its entirety and in first person, evaluate every detail and anticipate the final result with great precision. This type of deeply immersive experience has two clear objectives: to facilitate informed decision making, as well as to eliminate surprises with photorealistic representations.

Although it is also true, and it is important to mention it, that as my colleague David says in his article “Technology and AI in the design process”, currently AI works best with very popular and general objects or concepts, but when For example, it is necessary to design a control console or apply very specific design concepts, the results usually do not meet the desired expectations. We will have to wait for the evolution of this technology to see if it ends up covering all design scales.

In summary, the combination of new technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality has led to a revolution in architectural visualization, offering exceptional benefits for both the client and the designer. This technology has not only transformed the way we design and present our projects, but it has also strengthened the communication and materialization of ideas, elevating the design experience, so today it is a minimum to include in any project. with a certain complexity.
